A muscular tension headache is caused by tightness of the muscles in the base of the skull, which may be secondary to trauma, postural problems, or stress. This can lead to difficulties in the ability to concentrate or read, perform activities while looking down such as computer work, or normal activities around the house. Physical Therapy can help decrease the tightness of these muscles in the base of the skull, improve posture and range of motion, thereby relieving headaches and allowing you to return to normal work or daily activities.
