Thoracic outlet syndrome is a compression of the nerves and arteries as they exit your neck and travel down your arm. This can lead to numbness and tingling in the entire arm and hand, vascular changes, loss of motion, muscular weakness, and difficulties with daily activities such as gripping, lifting, and overhead motions. Physical Therapy can identify the factor for causing compression and help alleviate this area through postural, strengthening, and flexibility exercises. This will lead to a decrease in pain, or numbness and tingling, along with increased strength and range of motion, with a return to your normal daily activities.
