Chronic Pelvic Pain

If you’re experiencing a heavy feeling in your pelvis, pain during intercourse, bladder or abdominal pain, or even pain in your lower back, buttocks, or upper thighs, physical therapy services at our facility can provide relief. We’ll develop a program that combines stretching and strengthening exercises, deep muscle massage, electrical muscle stimulation, applications of heat and cold to your abdomen, and education to decrease or eliminate your pain.

Loss of Bladder or Bowel Control

It is not uncommon for women, particularly as they mature, to experience loss of bladder or bowel control. Sometimes these weaknesses are associated with other landmarks in life, such as childbirth or surgery. Whatever the cause, these conditions can often be treated without surgery. By using techniques such as exercise, bladder training, biofeedback, and electrical muscle stimulation, your pelvic floor and deep stomach muscles can be strengthened to provide the support you need for your everyday activities.

Osteoporosis

Keeping your bones strong as you age, especially after menopause, is a challenge most women face. Your natural decline in bone mass is called osteoporosis, and it is a leading healthcare concern for women. We offer a physical therapy program that can help keep your bones strong and healthy for a lifetime. Your physical therapy regimen will include an evaluation with one of our experienced physical therapists along with a personalized exercise program to help improve your posture and strength, prevent falls, and decrease your risk for fractures.

Pain Due to Pregnancy

Nurturing new life puts your body through some extraordinary changes. These changes can strain your joints, cause pelvic misalignment, and produce pain in your lower back, buttocks, or thighs. These and other pregnancy-related pains can be safely and effectively treated with physical therapy before and after delivery.
